THE CHALLENGE
An offshore decommissioning project required a dependable emergency lighting solution for demanding working conditions.
The requirement went beyond supplying standard LED tube lights. The equipment needed suitable industrial electrical connections, emergency power functionality and project-specific preparation and documentation.
Standard, off-the-shelf products did not provide the complete configuration. The challenge was to combine suitable lighting technologies, emergency power components and modified electrical connections into one practical solution.
With a scheduled offshore mobilisation approaching, all equipment also had to be modified, inspected, labelled and delivered within a particularly short timeframe.
The customer needed more than a product supplier. They needed a partner capable of understanding the technical requirements and turning them into a workable solution.
OUR SOLUTION
SD Supply developed a tailored emergency lighting solution by combining specialist LED lighting, emergency power technology and modified industrial electrical connections.
Our knowledge of lighting technologies, electrical connection requirements and modification possibilities enabled us to propose a more suitable solution for the customer’s operational needs than a standard product-only approach.
Working with specialist partners in Norway and the Netherlands, we selected the relevant components and coordinated the required technical modifications. Industrial CEE connections, adapted cabling and emergency power solutions were brought together into project-specific configurations.
All materials were consolidated at our facility in Vlaardingen, where the modification and assembly activities were coordinated. We also arranged the required inspections, certification documentation and equipment labelling before dispatch.
Despite the compressed schedule, the prepared equipment was delivered to the designated logistics handover point in Rotterdam in time for the planned offshore mobilisation.
